Retired MMA fighter RJ Clifford is back again with another Experts React video. This time he is reacting to such games as Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, Def Jam Fight for NY, The Warriors, Sleeping Dogs, and the last but not least Yakuza 5 Remastered. He is observing and explaining the gameplay as well as technical aspects of the games from the early 00’s and how fighting games evolved till today. Featuring some vicious moves, takedowns, and even combo attacks with deadly finishing, RJ praises the games’ developers for the extraordinary work they produced when releasing these games! Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is a first-person action-adventure game in which the player takes control of Faith Connors as she progresses through a futuristic city named Glass. Through the first-person perspective, combine her fluid movement and advanced combat with the city’s surroundings to master the environment and uncover the conspiracy.

The gameplay of Def Jam Fight for NY is expanded from the original game, which was primarily a wrestling game. It emphasizes the use of the game’s various environments and the surrounding crowd to cause damage. Tossing the opponent against barriers gives fighters an opportunity to inflict massive damage to their opponent by slamming them into the wall headfirst, ramming a door or gate in their face, or using other features of the environment.

The Warriors is an action-adventure survival game that focuses heavily on brawling. Several minor gameplay elements are mixed into the experience, such as the ability to use spray paint to mark turf or to insult other people. Combat in The Warriors occurs in real-time and involves pressing buttons to initiate attacks by the on-screen character.

Sleeping dogs, similar to the GTA series is an open world and martial arts action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective. The player controls martial arts commando Wei Shen, a Chinese-American police officer who goes undercover and ventures out on a raid to infiltrate the Sun On Yee Triad organization.

Yakuza 5 Remastered really feels like a culmination of everything that came before it into this one huge, bursting at the seams Yakuza package. The battle system was upgraded with new special techniques such as Kazuma Kiryu – Dragon Spirit, Taiga Saejima – Tiger Puppetry, Shun Akiyama – Launch Strike, Tatsuo Shinada – My Meteor Tackle as well as Dance Battle with numerous styles and Heat Action.

In any case, you cannot fully appreciate these games if you don’t try to play them.

  1. I'm glad they showcased movesets from different Yakuza characters~

Next one RJ with Gemma/Noah/Yoshi reacting to Judgement please!!

  2. Man, Sleeping Dogs one of the best martial arts video games.

  3. Bring this guy back for Sifu when it releases

  4. I was expecting Mayhem Miller, for this onde.

  5. I think he missed the fact that the guys in Def Jam had their jeans way too low

  6. "I've never fought a hooker before, but I imagine they've seen some stuff, so tread lightly." This is the kind of expert advice I come to this channel for. Thank you.

  7. 🤣 "You've gotta worry about the next guy…or Hooker!!"

Always good to see Sleeping Dogs, the fact that somehow slipped under the radar back in the day and never got a sequel offends me!!

  8. Oooh he put his face into a blender!

  9. This is my favorite person on the channel deadass

  10. would be great to have him or the Martial Arts Experts react to the fighting scenes of Arcane, specially the boxing bits

  11. He should react to Kiryu fighting the tigers 🐅

  12. best street fighting games yet Urban Reign is not here? For me was always along Fight for NY as top quality street fighting games.

  13. I would like to see him and Dr. Wagner react together and talk about some MMA injuries some time

Also I would love to see him react to fights from the batman arkham series

  14. Thanks for reminding how bad I want a warriors remake

  15. It would be cool to see this guy colab with Gemma and have them talk about their different fighting styles. Plus the energy levels would be off the charts

  16. Sleeping dogs makes me want to learn kung fu street fighting

  17. The Defjam games were built on the Aki engine, which was designed for WWE wrestling games. It is a common thing in wrestling to pick an opponent up to perform more throws and attacks, hence it became part of the Defjam system which is basically a wrestling game.

  18. I expected to see Crime Life: Gang Wars here and of course you couldn't have done this video without Sleeping Dogs, such a great game!

  19. Kinda irritates me that the guy manages to look away everytime there´s the big finisher…

  20. I would love to see experts react to the recent first shooter game "Ready or Not" although it still is in development, some aspects like the game's environment could be evaluated.

  21. Day 2 of Requesting:
    Spec Ops Play MW3 Campaign

  22. I wish they remake def jam. I really enjoyed that game.

  23. I need to play Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst again.

  24. RJ is by far one of the best Experts on this channel.

  25. RJ Clifford, Jemma, & Noah covering Sifu. Gameology, you know what needs to be done.
    Senator Palpatine: Do it!

  26. His face and commentary'll change if he saw Breaker Style-

  27. Gamology for Def Jam Fight for NY

pls show the skill screen it shows all the fighting mode at least if you have the game you can show all the individual skills and how they relate to real life

  28. I wanna see this guy do a reaction with the martial artists, spec ops and doctor

  29. "If they have a knife, you run away. If they have a gun, you run to."
The knife i get, but why run towards someone with the gun? You're just making yourself an easier target.

  30. I loved this guy when he was on before. Looking forward to more!

  31. This guy's an expert on being an expert 😂… really love how he reacts 😂❤

  32. Always really love the Yakuza content with you guys, it's always an insta click for me. I super wasn't expecting to see 5, it was great!

Here's to hoping for some potential Judgment content, I think there'd be a lot of great content to make between Yagami's four styles.

  33. So I admit I'm naive about self-defense against knives vs guns. I'm thinking that coming toward a person with either would be bad, but with a gun would be much worse.

  34. So, technically it's not a game but it does feature multiple characters from two popular games, but I would love to see either martial artists or even the MMA fighter react to the dead fantasy series. I'm surprised there haven't been any martial artists who have reacted to it yet, at least not that I could find on youtube, but it would be super interesting to see the breakdown on the choreography and the moves. Specifically I think you should have them focus on episode 3 (Tifa vs Hitomi), but also some minor focus on episodes 1 and 2 (the 4v4 battle). Also including a bit of episode 6 wouldn't be bad either. Would be super psyched to see this, and think others would be as well since it's a quite a gem on youtube.

  35. Yesss finally someone who isn’t Kung fu bullshido stuntman martial arts I love these ones

  36. Have him react to ufc undisputed 3 the most realistic mma game ever mad

  37. Picking up an enemy makes sense only in video games because you can keep up the combo chain, dealing more damage. When picked up, there's a timeframe when an enemy is still staggered. This is very common in the Yakuza series.

  38. Please React To Street Fighter 5 And Batman Series As Well
